Nestled in the Tyne Valley, on the river banks, this course is the original hidden gem of Northumberland Golf Courses. It was founded in 1891, when then only 9 holes and a wooded hut, it is now a delightful 18 holes with a fine two storey sand stone club house. The course is parkland, with a varied selection of mature trees, pine copses and young saplings, the fairways are tight, and straight hitting is a must. The course is famed for its greens, small, sloping and very fast. The views are excellent, East to the City and West to the Tyne Valley - on a fine day there is nowhere better! At the 19th hole visitors will receive a cordial welcome.
