A very traditional parkland golf course, located within three miles of Newcastle town centre, 'The Bridal Path', as it is known locally, was founded in 1906. The course is generally flat, easily walked, but interesting water hazards cross some fairways, making club selection very important. The 18th, the club's signature hole, is a tough par 4, over 400 yards back to the clubhouse. The Ouse Burn cross’s the fairway, so the tee shot is crucial, and often leads to a long iron into the rolling green. Gosforth has a friendly club house, and as you would expect, in a typical golf club style.
