Location:  Chopwell, Tyne & Wear - 8 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne

This course must be one of the most picturesque in the region, located on the Northumberland and Durham border; it has great views of the City and the surrounding countryside. The course was opened in 1922 and is now a mature parkland set out, and has some fantastic holes. The designer, Harry Fernie, has used the natural landscape to form interesting golf holes, a short par 4 begins the adventure, but then some testing long ones, before a short par 5, but it doglegs over a valley to a raised green. The course winds it way through woodland and valleys, its quiet setting makes for a relaxing day, and a true game of golf in every way.
